Very Lit is music-reactive lighting for parties and venues. It listens to the music, designs looks around your fixtures, and drives DMX so the room stays locked to the track — without you stuck at a lighting desk all night.

DJs, house parties, clubs, pop-ups, and anyone running a dance floor who wants the lights to feel alive with the music. You do not need to be a lighting designer to get a great show going.

Consoles are built for operators who program cues and ride faders. Very Lit is built to react to the music in real time: beat, energy, and phrasing drive the looks automatically, while you still design the room and fixtures in 3D ahead of time.

Usually no. Very Lit is meant to run the show while you enjoy the party. You can still tweak the show design, patch, and modes from the editor when you want control — but you are not required to babysit every cue.

Very Lit analyzes the live audio for tempo, energy, and musical structure, then maps that into lighting interpretations — color, motion, intensity, and fixture roles — so beams and washes feel timed to the track instead of looping on a fixed playlist of cues.

Audio is captured from the machine running the Very Lit desktop bridge (typically the DJ booth computer or a laptop next to the mixer). Give the app microphone / system-audio access so it can hear the room or the feed you point it at.

It is tuned for dance music with a clear pulse — house, techno, disco, hip-hop, and similar. Tracks with a steady beat and rising energy give the best results. Spoken-word or ambient sets without a groove will look quieter and less rhythmic, which is expected.

Yes. From the show editor you can adjust the room, fixtures, and lighting modes. The reactive engine keeps driving DMX from the music; you steer the overall direction of the show rather than programming every bar.

You need DMX-capable lights, a way to get DMX out of a Mac (USB Enttec DMX Pro or an Art-Net node / interface), and the Very Lit macOS desktop app on a machine near the fixtures. The show itself is designed in the browser at verylit.club.

Very Lit works with Art-Net and Enttec Pro–class USB DMX interfaces. Install the macOS bridge app, sign in, and connect it to your controller so the cloud show can reach the fixtures on the floor.

Browsers cannot talk to USB DMX hardware or reliably push Art-Net onto your local network. The desktop bridge sits next to your lights, stays signed in to your account, and carries live DMX from your Very Lit show to the controller.

The bridge needs network access to Very Lit (internet) and a path to your DMX interface (USB or local Art-Net). Your phone or laptop used for the editor only needs to reach verylit.club — it does not have to be on the same LAN as the lights.

You patch fixtures into your show with universe and address like a normal DMX plot. Capacity depends on your interface and fixture footprint. Start with a realistic patch for your room; you can grow the show as you add lights.

Moving heads, washes, bars / motionstrips, lasers, and other common party fixtures. Pick types from the fixture library when you build the show so Very Lit knows channel layout and how to aim or color each light.

Very Lit ships with a large fixture library based on the Open Fixture Library, plus a few private definitions. Today that covers 132 manufacturers — search by brand or model in the show editor when you add lights:

Yes. Design and preview in 3D from the editor so you can test staging, aim, and looks without burning a full night of setup. When you are ready, connect the bridge and go live on real DMX.

Yes. Each show is its own layout — floor size, fixtures, patch, and staging. Keep a house-party plot, a club plot, and a festival booth as separate shows and open the one that matches the night.

No. Place fixtures on the floor plan, set height and rotation, assign DMX addresses, and you are most of the way there. The reactive engine handles the performance side once the room is patched.

Build or open your show in the browser, launch the macOS bridge next to the lights and sign in, confirm DMX is live, then let Very Lit ride the music. Check aim and dimmers early in the night, then get off the desk.

When energy falls, the lighting settles with it. When the beat returns, reactivity picks back up. If the audio feed goes silent (wrong input, muted channel), fix the input on the bridge machine — the lights follow what they can hear.

Yes in principle: keep a calmer show or lower energy for dinner, then switch to your dance-floor show or modes when the party starts. The same hardware can serve both if your patch covers the room.

The show editor runs in a modern desktop browser. The DMX bridge is a macOS app. Windows bridge support is not the primary path today — plan on a Mac next to the lights for live output.

Yes. Shows, fixture patches, and staging live in your Very Lit account so you can open them from another machine and so the bridge can run the active show without copying files around on USB sticks.

If the editor, bridge, or DMX link misbehaves, note what you were doing (show name, interface type, and whether audio was present) and reach out through the same channel you used to get access. Include whether Art-Net or Enttec Pro is in the path — that speeds up debugging a lot.
